Description:

1969 AMC Other Rogue

Original 1969 AMC Hurst SC/Rambler, one of 1512 built. This California car was rescued from the area of Palm Springs, CA. Itstill hasthe black CA license plates, with dealer frames from Hermosa Beach, CA. It had to have been registered before mid-1969 when CA plates went to blue. This amazing piece of history is unmolested, and in original AMC condition with only has two small rust spots behind each door, where AMC welded the rear window frame to the inside of the quarter panel, like they all get. We took the car to AZ AMC Restorations in order to have it examined by the owner and restorer of award winning AMC cars, who specializes in SC/Ramblers. After examining the car he confirmed that it is a correct Hurst SC/Rambler with a VIN that ranks at the ninth lowest number on the registry. It is equipped with an original 390 V-8 including heads date coded 11-11-68, a T-10 4 speed transmission, with a Hurst T-handle. He noted many original parts including the hood tie down pins, early hood scoop,SunST-635 tachometer, AM push button radio, a complete head liner, sway bars, torque links, andtail pipe tips. The radiator was replaced at some point and is not a Blackstone, and the smog equipment has been removed, although you can see where the smog tube bolt holes were welded up on the exhaust manifolds. The headrests are missing, but can be replaced with any 69 AMC headrest, and the Thrush mufflers have been changed to turbo mufflers. Being a 95%+ rust free southwest car, the seats and soft interior pieces are crispy fromthe desert sun. Overall, this is as complete and original Hurst SC/Rambler as you will find anywhere, and it's near rust free body is an excellent candidate for restoration. Tending to a family illness has taken priority over proceeding with our plans to do a full restoration at AZ AMC Restorations, so we are offering it up for someone else to have the opportunity to restore this great car.
