This car is not our usual find. As you may know we focus on muscle cars, but now and then a seller will have the odd collector car that we just can't leave behind. This one is a scarce 1975 AMC Gremlin X 'Levi's' edition. So called for the Levi's Jeans interior. The factory window sticker and paperwork come with the car, showing the interior selection and rare options like a Rally Package, Power Steering and the Automatic transmission.
This one is in pretty good shape, as you can see from the pictures, but it is staring to show some flaws. There are a couple of small rust spots on the lower door corners and a couple of small pinholes around the rear and front glass. However, overall this car is solid. As you can see by the underside pictures, the floorboards and rear corners are nice.
This car runs and drives nice! Hop in and the car starts right up and purrs on down the road. It handles well and always gets lots of curious looks and thumbs up. The automatic transmission shifts out nicely and the little 6 cylinder engine has a decent amount of power.
The jeans interior is worn and will need some creative upholstery to bring back to original, but the look is still there, down to the brass rivets and door pouches that look like rear jean pockets. The dash is in pretty good shape. The original radio is present, but does not appear to work.
This one comes with an under-dash a/c unit that was probably dealer installed. It has been disconnected and there are missing pieces. There are a number of after-market kits you can get to bring it up to speed if you'd prefer to have AC on those hot sunny days, but here in the Pacific NW, we just roll the windows down.
We've put a quick buy it now on this one, since it's not our regular fare, and if you're interested give us a call quick! We're ready to let it go to a new home. We have the car listed locally and have had a lot of interest, so we reserve the right to take it down at a moments notice for the sale.
