Selling a beautiful 1967 Alfa Romeo Duetto Spider 1600. This is more than a car, t is a work of art. The Italians were visionaries. Attractive lines, xcellent power, peed and handling; aggressive driving experience, et comfortable for the driver and passenger. Among all, his car embodies pure class. After owning and driving many different European sports cars, have found it is an absolute joy driving an Alfa, ut driving a Duetto, r Boat tail (as called here, KA Osso di seppia on the other side of the pong...) is an exhilarating experience.I recently purchased the car from the estate of an Alfa Romeo collector, ho not only had about 7 or 8 alfas, ncluding a '59 & '60 Giulietta, hich he raced. In fact he was also a racing instructor at a local racing school in Massachusetts. I believe that this car only had three owners, nd this car appears to be 100 % correct, ith the exception of an aftermarket radio. I believe it is a Rosso Alfa car, o color changes, riginal 1600 engine with twin Webers 40s, ll correct. I believe that the car has only been painted one time. The interior is original and there is some wear on the seats, note that the passenger seat has some rips), arpers are newer, ew soft top, ewer michelin tires on the original Alfa steel rims and original hubcaps (which are in great shape-see pictures), nsa exhaust (single tip),mechanicallythis car runs and drives quite well.I have the records of the majority of the work that has been done to this car.
The front end was rebuilt a number of years ago, ut the car has not been abused, hus these repairs all appear to be in outstanding condition. New parts according to the records: front rotors, ear rotors, aliper cores, ower ball joints, pper control arms, ear bushing, astor busing, emforder lower bushings, rake MC, L upright hubs, heels bearing kits, rake flex hoses, oni shocks, arm thrust washers, ear axle/plates, arking brake cable, ew parking brake shoe, ear axle seals, ear brake line parts, sed spring pan, ut tie rods, esetalignmentto correct specs. All suspension parts at normal heights andrebuilt calipers. COST $4269.93
Complete Engine rebuilt 4/4/2007. All work done at Alfa Unlimited at Norfolk CT. One of the mostrenownAlfa shops in the Northeast. I was told that they did the work from Alfa when they had dealers in New England.Here's what the invoice says: new throttle bellcrank, istons/liners, ings, od bushing, ob bolt set, ightening of the flywheel, alve job, ew guides, ew valve seals, ew valve springs, ew valve, rans seal, ans bushings, hift rail hardware, L shift lever, L selector mechanism, arb rebuild, ew water pump, ebuilt alternator, ebuilt starter, ower OEM alfa chain, pper OEM Alfa chain, ew carb mounts, urface hear, ain/rod/TW bearings, asket set speedy sleeve, an followers, hims, arb strut bushing, lt belt, ngine mounts, eld cam cover hold, ew hardware, hifter boot, ew fuel hose, lamps, rive shaft rubber. COST $7033.30
We picked up this classic this summer and had the following done to refresh it. Repair vacuum port for brake boost, s it was leaking air. The manifold gaskets were old and leaking fuel, hus manifolds were removed and new gaskets were installed. Carb was found to be leaking some fuel, hus the carbs tops were removed and adjusted. Idling was adjusted. The electrical was gone over, ll headlights are working, ll turn signals are works, ark lights and brake lights are all working Brand new interstate battery installed with new leads and connections ( $125.00). Wiper blades are working. All work done recently was over $1000.
Compression test was done: 180, 75, 80, nd 185All gauges seem to bee working. All fuses replaced. There are a few things that will need some minor attention, o driver's seat belt, he cable to release the hood needs to be replace, heair-boxis not currently attached, ir cleaner may be missing a hose. Will include all extra parts including the airbox. A few little paint chips on the hood (see in pictures).
Please be aware that this car is almost 50 years old, t is not showroom quality, ut is certainly beautiful and in great shape. Very straight body.LBJ was still the president then. Ted Williams was still alive ( a Boston Red Sox legend). The engine bay was repainted when the engine was taken out, t is a slightly different red. There appears to be no rust on the car, nd seems very intact. The floor pans were replaced, ut was not done with the pans from an Alfa. The trunk seems completely solid, here is a spare wheel in the trunk, ut no jack.
