Description:

1967 Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto

Produced for just 1966 and 1967, and in low numbers, the Alfa Romeo Spider 1600 Duetto rose to fame in The Graduate being driven by Dustin Hoffman. This 1967 Spider Duetto is one of the desirable and attractive Series 1, commonly known as boat-tail or round-tail, designed by the Italian design firm Pininfarina, and is actually the last project that founder Battista 'Pinin' Farina worked on. The flowing body-lines of the Series 1 body lasted until 1970 when the second generation was released. Featuring a stunning and rare Grigio Grafite (Graphite Grey, the color original to the car) exterior over a beautiful red vinyl interior with a black top, this Alfa Romeo shows little sign of aging cosmetically. Under the hood, this old Alfa Romeo is powered by a 1570 CC four-cylinder with dual side-draft Weber carburetors producing 108hp. Stopping is handled by disc-brakes on all four corners. All said, the Alfa Romeo Spider is a elegant and stylish sports-car that Alfa Romeo kept in production through four-generations and nearly 30 years. However the original Series 1 round-tail is by far the most desirable and attractive of all of those variants. This Alfa Romeo has had the advantage of being under long term ownership for most of its life, meaning that it's been well maintained and cared for, with extensive service records, original documentation and an originality that speaks volumes.
